Don't get ripped off at McDonalds like I almost did. |

Posted by Newkirk Plaza David on Wed Jun 24 14:00:17 2009 Last Sunday, I and a family friend of mine went to McDonalds on Webster and Clay Aves in the Bronx (next to Claremont Park.). We ordered some food, as which I found the total amount strange. I asked a receipt for my order, which was provided by the cashier. On the receipt, the cost of a large OJ was $2.49, on the menu board POP it reads $1.99. I explained to the cashier that the price was wrong; knowing that she has no control over the prices, I asked for the manager. The manager acted very unprofessional to me, insisting that the price I paid on the receipt was the prevailing price, not the menu board price as required by law. She was very loud with me, saying that this is her store and the law does not exist here. But the manager (mind you, nobody was wearing nametags) reluctantly took out her calculator and added things up. You would think that $1.99 (plus tax) from $2.49 (plus tax) would equal 54 cents (50 cent plus 4 cents tax). No! She calculated $1.99 plus tax but refused to add the tax to the $2.49 calculation, thus I would be short as $1.99 plus tax equals $2.17 and $2.17 taken away from $2.49 (without the tax added) equals 32 cents. After INSISTING that she was wrong, the manager gave up and "threw" me down the 54 cents saying "Don't come back ever again". With a bitchy attitude like that she should not be allowed to work in any capacity of customer service ever again!!!! |
