Saw a food program on Channel 13 last week. A food expert tasted four steaks and told his opinion. His favorite came from some Mail Order firm and cost $140 a pound. I think it was Brandts or something like that. His second favorite turned out to some steak picked out at the local supermarket. For number three, he picked a steak from Japan that cost $190 a pound. The one he liked least which he thought had no flavor at all, turned out to be from Peter Luger's in Williamsburg.I ate there once and also was very disappointed in the steak there. I've had much better elsewhere. But they had the best spinach I ever ate and the cake which they bought from some bakery in Little Italy also was excellent. |
