AS someone mention in the past post, what if NICE becomes successful in the next 5 years in mainting the ballance of their budget and still operate a decent bus system, could that be threat to the end of MTA in NYC....No - the unions will never allow it in New York City. Bloomberg could have gone to a company like Veolia instead of the MTA to take over the private bus lines, but even that would have been a fight. I could see Veolia making a play to win the Bee Line, Suffolk Transit or Transport of Rockland contracts the next time they are up, though. |
