They could, but the oompanies would still argue, I mean it took about eight years to settle who had ownership of the bus routes. That resulted in the agreement to cometetvily bid the routes, which in turn caused the downfall of CBS Lines. (if my contact who told me how the last bid was went was correct)Besides the county would probably have to prove that one sole operator is cheaper then the current three. Besides the County is bad a giving out sole contracts, they were busted by the county comptrollor for giving Suffolk Bus more money then they should have when they last renewed the Para-Transit contract. |
