Until the early 1980's when the "S92" was 4 buses a day with SDH Suburban Fishbowls with home-built rear freight compartments no less, the East Hampton originating bus in the AM and the terminating one in the PM actually deadheaded out of Greenport very early in the morning, and returned late at night by running via Route 114: across North and South Ferries and Shelter Island. They may also have had some freight contracts with them. They generally used the 35 footer, #fleet #102 for that. |
