The 102 was a 35 footer.
The 106 came in the late 1960's, replaced an Old Look Suburban 104 or the GM Torpedo 103. 106 was actually a flat floor transit with no exit door, had standee windows, but forward facing seats nonetheless.

They had no AC, just window sill blowers, yet never seemed miserable on a summer day.

I remember one bus driver looked like Ralph Kramden. He may have been the South Shore guy. Another guy was short, chubby, jolly, and had a crewcut.

The resaon I though they deadheaded across is that I peeked thru the ticket office of the North Ferry, saw a list of commercial customers, and Sunrise Coach was on the list.

I miss those unique buses. They had personality and lasted a long time. They have been gone 30 years. Wish I could find a picture.

I even saw the 101 or 102 sub for a LIRR Road'n'Rail when it broke down in Greenport. I don't know who drove it to Babylon.
