As far as internet sites go, why couldn't they leave the World Wildlife Fund with wwf.org, and the World Wrestling Federation with wwf.com? In more general usage, even the most widely known initials don't always mean what they usually do. There was a group called the United Soccer Association that used the initials USA, for example. Then there was the story that some witnesses to the Columbine HS massacre noticed that some of the police who responded carried shields that were marked NATO. Something seemed very wrong; there was certainly no valid reason that troops from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization should have been there. Turned out, though, it was the National Association of Tactical Officers. Then there were the two CIA chips in every Commodore 64. Not from the spy agency, though; they were Complex Interface Adapters. |

If you watch the tape, the cop takes out his cuffs and tells him something (presumably to put his hands behind his back). The kid ignores the verbal instructions and when the cop goes to physically take the kid's hand, he grabbs the poster. Obviously the kid had the poster gripped so hard it ripped off the wall when the cop yanked him away. You gotta understnd, police work is not all "nice". Sometimes you gotta break an egg or 2 to make an omelet. The cop took the kid to the ground because he felt that he was a danger or flight risk. To the neophytes this looks appalling but it's really not. The kid was the captain of his own ship and chose the course where that ship sailed. |

With the perp on the ground, the officer can then place the cuffs on him, but no, the perp wiggles free and gets up and grabs ANOTHER poster board, forcing the officer to bring him down again. But I'm wondering how this all got started in the first place. Word is that the kid jumped the turnstiles, but he was standing in a far corner of the platform far away from the fare control when the officer approached him. Still can't place what that noise was. |

He searched him before he put the cuffs on as a preliminary caution to check for weapons. The kid's been locked up before, he knew the deal. He knew the cuffs were coming out, hence the grabbing of the poster. The defunct NYCTPD of 20 years ago would have smashed the kid's face against the wall if he resisted back then so he's VERY lucky this was 2012, not 1989 or so. |
