Posted by ntrainride on Thu Feb 26 04:24:42 2015, in response to Officials push to electrify LIRR train lines in Suffolk County, posted by Gold_12th on Wed Feb 25 02:35:00 2015. an m.u. powered train is more "modern" than al locomotive pulled train? the guys pushing for this don't know shiz from shinola about tralins. afa patchogue goes, serious redevelopment of the station area would be a much better use of funds. but most of suffolk is fine with diesel powered trains. re-zone all the station areas to high density residentially and office development. i e.: ten stories and higher, at that point there might be good reasons for further electrification. |
