There was a huge rider shift off the South Shore and Port Jeff to Ronkonkoma in the year or so after Ronkonoma went electric, and it never came back. "New Village" in Patchogue notwithstanding, the diesel service is a failure.Wyndanch, and Huntington are electric. Bay Shore is close enough to Babylon most probably drive there. No, Suffolk is "not fine with diesel" service as you put it, and Brookhaven Town has said as much. |
