That was somewhat corrected when the AC rebuilds came in; then the FL9s went back to being in electric mode while in GCT. Certainly was quite a difference in sound, what with the FL9ACs having turbocharged prime movers versus the older supercharged ones.

Not to mention, the Shoreliner trains went from having two FL9s at the front of the train to just one.
