I was under the impression that in NY you can get a summons if the light turns red before you have completely left the intersection.If I am right, just because it's yellow when you are in the middle of the intersection doesn't mean you are home free. You were supposed to heed the yellow and not enter an intersection on the yellow if you didn't have time to get out too. |

Please point us to facts relating to "Garden City", as well as the "many municipalities" that state going through a yellow light is the same as a red light (showing how my statement that all four tires are passed the line into the intersection before the light turns red is false). And actually, since you are famous here for pulling statements out of your....please state that it "was like that in the 70's", as even that statement coming from you means about as much as water running down the drain. |

Macy's has pretty much locked up most of the mid range department store sales, especially around the Northeast where there's no real competition to it unless one counts Lord & Taylor. FWIW, Kohl's is probably what's killing JCP and Sears. Much nicer stores, more attractive sales, and the locations seem to be a bit more convenient. |

The cop may have "saw" one thing, and your father claimed another. People always claim "they didn't do something" when they get a ticket. So what does that prove, that this alleged "law" was in effect? It just proves (again, assuming this is a true story) that your father got a ticket for something he claimed he didn't do. And he may well have not done that. People get tickets for things they "don't do" (or claim they didn't do) all the time. That's what traffic court is for, that doesn't prove a "taken out of the air" allegation that "Garden City" did (or as you originally claimed does) differently than the rest of New York State. |

There are three sides to every story, what one side said happened, what the other side happened, and then what really happened. If this was a just a cop in the 70's pulling your father over for running a red light (as opposed to a red light camera infraction, which were extremely rare, or nonexistent in the 70's), then there is absolutely subjectivity involved. Why don't you just ask your parents or another adult? When I am speaking to an adult (which you obviously aren't based on this trollish, immature statement), I also speak like an adult. |
