The fearmongering of the press is wearing off - the lockdowns will be largely ignored by mid-June, and if the Dems attempt a new lockdown by November, they will be screwed. |

It will still take 2 million deaths to bring the US to herd immunity without some kind of medical advance or a change in the character of the virus. 2. It isn't infecting as many people any more because even Republicans are mostly practicing social distancing. Do you see any area of the country where restaurants are generally packing people in at full capacity? Or where stadiums are filled with people? Of course, Trump is proposing an interesting scientific experiment, namely to hold the Republican Convention with the full cast of people. If they pull that off without a major outbreak among leading Republicans in September, it would prove that something has fundamentally changed. |

The Michigan protesters was about 30 - 40 people. Their governor has a 71% approval rating. Trump's overall approval rating is stuck in the low 40's. On the Covid-19 issue, about 39%. Don't be too confident that Trumpicans will all run out without masks and party. They aren't doing either. |

Virtually every state allows filing an absentee ballot for reasons of health. Since there hasn't been a massive pandemic since 1918, there are no clearly established rules as to whether not wishing to wait in a crowded polling place during a pandemic is a valid reason of health.
