Remember when the Gambinos tried to rub out "Handsome" Jack Giordano right in front of the ER at Lenox Hill? A Lenox crew was right there putting their stretcher back into the bus when the bullets started flying. The medics grabbed Jack, who was about six-three, by his armpits and literally dragged him, under fire, into the ER. That's no mean feat, because the ambulance entrance door at Lenox is a thick, heavy steel affair. You carry as best you can under the circumstances, whether the patient is alive...or not.N.B. Jack survived the attempted hit, and was taken in another ambulance a couple of weeks later to a rehab facility out in Jersey. |

It was an opinion piece by Bo Deitl, an NYPD cop from 1969 to 1985, & not an editorial position of the paper. My take on Bo's piece is that he is understandably rooting for Pantaleo's keeping his job. However,IMO the NYPD will go along with the ME's report & fire Pantaleo.If Pantaleo keeps his job, put it this way, for the next few days afterwards, lots of NYPD cops will be piling up some serious overtime. |

The NYPD own Chief surgeon and even the medical examiner stated that he did not die from asphyxiation to the throat, which is why there wasn't any grand jury true bill. He won't get fired for doing his job. And everyone here has to realize that he's not on trial here, this is just a departmental trial, this is like you fucking up at work and you getting called into the boardroom and they either discipline you or they fire you. That's it. |
