I saw that article too in the NY Daily News. It was an opinion piece by Bo Deitl, an NYPD cop from 1969 to 1985, & not an editorial position of the paper. My take on Bo's piece is that he is understandably rooting for Pantaleo's keeping his job. However,IMO the NYPD will go along with the ME's report & fire Pantaleo.
If Pantaleo keeps his job, put it this way, for the next few days afterwards, lots of NYPD cops will be piling up some serious overtime.
