9-11 is a werid sort of holiday now |
|
Posted by Orange Blossom Special on Thu Sep 11 14:52:16 2025 My perspective, as a quasi-outsider.I remember 2002 and 2003 9/11 was a big deal nationally. Even later in cities with a large ex-pat community (of real NY'ers, not the mandami's), this is always a big day to commemorate. But we commemorate 3000 people. Since 2001, thanks to this holiday. Islam has become mainstream. It has spread rapidly, taking over cities and quote a few countries. Television portrays these actors in the best possible light imaginable. It was great marketing. Since 2001, untold numbers of people have been murdered in attacks using the same exact ideology. They don't get their names called every year in such a manner. A lot of them were just going to work too. Since 2001, the wars around the world have not slowed, but never end. With the same groups. Same group, different name. Since 2001, entire ethnic groups and races have been or have nearly been wiped out by the same groups, different name. Greta Thurnberg never sheds a tear for any of them. Since 2022, in my 5 mile radius, I went from seeing none to 0 muslims per day, to quite a few orthodox ones, daily. They are going to buy an Office Building (Cue Rosa!) for their needs and school. It seems bizarre to remember, or commemorate 9/11 today. It is like going to Bethlehem, Palestein and pretending to do something involving Christmas. Or even singing songs about Bethlehem in this day and age. A dying belief. |
