I am somewhat curious as to what current (R) positions are keeping you from their side.

My remaining policy objections with (R)s are:
-they go too hard on personal responsibility and cutting safety nets... yes "teach a man to fish" is better than "give a man a fish", but at least help the man get a fishing rod, lest he vote to socialize fisheries
-rolling back environmental policies haphazardly
-the war on drugs
-the cutback on legal immigration
The Libertarian influence on the party seems to have dulled that last point.

That said, the two main pillars of the left right now are either cut back on economic freedom via socialism, and assraping the 2nd amendment. Those objections are too large and important for me to lodge a protest vote. If the eventual candidate doesn't back off that rhetoric on both fronts, as far as I'm concerned #KAG.
