At least offer it on busy routes for an experimental period. If DART First State thought so negatively as you did in this post, Wilmington, DE would still be without Sunday service... |

S1 starts at 5AM during the weekday and either 6 or 6:30AM on Saturday. i don't know what time they end cuz i don't know the route but ithink its either 9:30 or 10 during weekdays and maybe an hour earlier during weekends.Copaigue has its own routes so that would be just dumb, and that would depend on how much fuel the bus had left in its tank. if it had enough to make the stops and wait in traffic then yeah they should do the route back, but i wouldn't want the bus to run out of fuel with a load of passengers on NYS 110, waiting for fuel. incase u forgot NYS 110 isn't the safest road on long island. |

"u really think a driver would like to do a two hour trip with no one on their bus?"I know this. Unless the driver was scheduled to bring Playboy bunnies to the Mansion, they are generally very happy to be paid to drive an empty bus. It's like working at a call center on a shift with almost zero calls. You are being paid to stay awake. |

S1 first bus is 5:40 am from Amityville during the week. First bus on saturday is 7:15am from Amityville. 9:55pm is the last S1 bus during the week arriving at Amityville and 7:30pm is the last one on Saturday.EBT in Copaigue operates the following routes:S1,S20,1A,1B and the S31. NYS route 110 is a safe road and with the timetables and the shelters they put out there the line is good. |

Example: MetroCard $2.00 local one way, with Unlimited ride passes: 7 days: $25.00, 30 days $81.00, 30 day pass x 12 = $972.00 Sufflok Transit: $1.50 one way, 6 days (2 way): $18.00, about 26 days (2 way): $78.00, 313 days (2 way): $939.00 Drawbacks: Unlimited rides: Nothing Sunday service: None, except s47 during special session. can't run 24/7 cuz u have no idea what the ridership is like during the night, and besides the only places that would be open are 24/7 stores and there aren't many like that around. 24/7 service is really based on connecting service to LIRR, some LIRR trains run late night every day and its open everyday and everytime when it is on schedule. There is potential ridership for connecting service in late night hours. and u can't define a whole system from the S92, the last time i was in riverhead the S92 was only late out of Greenport, and the time before that the buses were on time. I pointed out one example the S92, there are many examples like this route. Like s60 constant lateness about 20-30 minutes during the day. But even the entire system they are routes need to keep on schedule. ST needs to modify or update their schedule on the routes. cheaper ride would mean the county would get less back from that fare and if that keeps up the hole system would prob end up crashing. No. Cheaper discounts ride will bring in ridership, revenue for ST, if they have better headways. The drawback is the county and state government will have to subsidize. ST is already subsidize by the government. $1.00 ride one way is benefit enough for college students. Well there is an age limit (14-22) and u are an idiot cuz even if they do fix the time tables u'll still get buses stuck in traffic!. the S61 runs every :30 min's but NYS 112 is only two lanes that it gets backed up for miles. No, maybe you reading too fast or you need a dictionary. I said previously, "Well it sounds like Suffolk Transit did not update their timetables in ages so with increasing traffic, they should alter or adjust the schedule right now." ST last schedule update May 2006 on it's website. ST really needs to update the schedule. They need to ADJUST the times when there is a traffic or congestion everyday. Or, they need a BRAND new schedule system. Yet you relied on ST for your destination @ its schedule. Maybe its time to stop relying on ST because they don't come on time. |
