There is a place out in Suffolk that has "shifts"..or some sense. On Saturday morning, LIBUS operates a N70 route from Hempstead to Mellville(it leaves at 6am..it's the ONLY trip of the day). I'm assuming this is for business on Route 110 who would normally use the S1 but don't since the S1 doesn't operate until 7Am.The best way to improve service is to improve lines. For instance, the last bus on Saturdays on the S1 is 6:15pm from Amityville Station and arrives at Halesite at 7:25pm. It then deadheads back. Wouldn't it make better sense since the bus is going back anyway to run it in service..at least to Copaigue where it can turn off to the garage. That makes sense. |
