...or a passenger going into cardiac arrest in the 8th car. The T/O has to assess the situation after walking back to the 8th car thru a crowded car of platform (and no cop around) and call the EMTs on the radio. Everyone knows that in cardiac cases minutes count. If the pax dies and family lawyers up claiming that a 2nd crewman would have got to the victim sooner and possibly saved a life, the MTA will bay big time if their case is successful. MTA is wide open in situations like this.
