Nowadays with phones in hand, theoretically any witness of someone in such trouble can just block the doors from closing in any station while simultaneously calling 911 directly. That seems faster than having either a T/O or C/R walk down to visit. But if I was the victim in such a case, I don't think anyone in the subway car would actually do that for me. As the phones landed in our hands, the desire to use them for good flew the coop. |
