I agree that having the City take over/take back the subways and buses is no panacea. The City did a pretty lousy job overseeing the system from 1904-1940, and running it directly from 1940-1968. Hence= the creation of MTA.I think there's no good reason to go back to an idea that failed the first time it was tried. |
