The farebox should cover operating costs, tax income and other revenues ought to cover additional expenses.There is probably no fare that people would be willing to pay that could cover the expenses of the MTA. The MTA is a money sucking machine, but what else can bve done to operate a subway. You want the 'RICH' to pay their fair fare, then the fare should be AT LEAST $3.00, maybe even $5.00.
