Actually, the IND plans always called for the Fulton St subway to be connected to the reclaimed LIRR ROW although originally via a connection from an extended Pitkin Ave subway that would have passed through (dare I say It?) 76 St as well as from Whitepot Jct. By 1950, the only change made was that the subway was no longer going to be extended any farther down Pitkin and the connection to the LIRR ROW would now be made by a connection to the soon to be reclaimed Fulton St el structure which eventually became Liberty Jct. The Whitepot Jct connection, however, was still in the works. |
