edf40wrjww2msgDetail:detailStr fiogf49gjkf0d The other day I went to the Lefferts Boulevard A train station. As I was walking down the platform, I noticed what looked like a new signal hanging over the platform (The Alstom logo on the back of the case was a clear giveaway of this). I look at it and sure enough, the signal number, K2-593A, in the FHWA-B typeface (Either this or Helvetica seems to be indicative of new signals these days), located between K2-593 and K2-594. There was another signal on the left side of the track labeled K2-593B-BS.
So, here's K2-593A, with K2-593B-BS on the left side of the track, then old signals K2-594, and marker signal K2-595.
And here's a view of the track with tripping arms up. 593A nearest, then 593B, 594, and 595.
So, have to ask: Is all this extra signaling really necessary?
