There may be no reason why they can't -- but they aren't going to.

It is hard to understand this decision. The additional cost of bringing back Wesh Hempstead weekend service is only the cost of the crews that are providing the service. Yet these crews are going to be idle somewhere in the range of 50-75% of the time they are on duty.

Add in that weekend WH ridership is pathetically light (hence the reason it was discontinued in the first place) -- and the decision boggles the mind.

Couldn't the money being spent on crews be put to better use by not having the crew sitting around most of the time? Couldn't the money be put to better use by having those crews in service and serving more passengers?
