I hope they never reopen the new station. The loop was below the water table and the new station is below the loop. What kind of logic went into that decision?

If they can reopen the loop at a minimal cost, fine. If not, then ferry passengers will either have to take the BMT at Whitehall (maybe with the W returning to service) or walk the short distance to Bowling Green.

The cost to reopen sounds ridiculously high, and there is always the danger that another superstorm like Sandy will hit the area in the near future.

As they taught us all when we learned to play poker, "Don't throw good money after bad". In other words, a bad decision was made to build the new station that far below the water table to begin with, so don't fix it up at a huge cost when it could happen again in short order.
