Also if this alleged station was ever built, did the station extend west of 76th St or east of 76th St? Usually there would have been an exit at either end of the station, one of which would be the 76th St end, but is the 76th St end the east end of the station or the west end of the station.
Also, most IND stations have mezzanines. This would mean this station is TWO levels. That's an AWFUL lot of "abandoned" tunnel not being inspected, and another reason I have a hard time believing this is there.
