Sort of gave the area a sense of differentness. Always knew I was on a road that would take me home directly, regardless of its name on signs or a map. I grew up in Hollis before rappers PUT it on the map; was always asked, "Hollis, where's that." Shoot, the biggest news now for us is the stomping at Wendys at Braddock and Hillside, puts Queens Village on the map. (And before I get critized, my sympathies go out for the victim of this crime.) |
