And I went to to St. Pascal's Grammar School! Graduated 1955. My brother attended there also and was in either the first or second graduating class, along with the girl I took to the high school prom (and with whom we're still great friends, more than 50 years later) at the High School (now a community center). Very small world! The high school was built with contributions from the parishioners, and my parents sacrificed to help. If they saw the neighborhood now and learned that the high school no longer was that, they'd turn over in their grave. I went to high school in Manhattan, using the Q3A bus and F/7 trains, then spent the afternoons carousing on the entire subway system. The rest is history..... |
