The Ten Commandments are not the "core" of the Christian religions. They are a part of the Old Covenant, the laws of Moses, and Christians are binding under the NEW Covenant. Some of which do apply the 10 Commandments fundamentals too, but not all of them.

If you believe in the "Old Testament," then you still have the other 603. In reality, you guys pick and choose which parts are still relevant, like a man lying with a man as he would with a woman is still an abomination but eating shrimp isn't anymore. That one was replaced with abortion.

Secondly, honoring the Sabbath might be a different day of the week (because the seventh day is counted differently and then they screwed up the calendar) but it's supposed to be kept every bit as holy (except for retailers).

That is not true. Sunday is "not" the "Sabbath", it's the "Lord's Day". Some Christian denominations still believe the Laws of Moses are fully binding, such as the Seventh Day Adventists, and they worship on Saturday. It's hard to say "Christian", as there's so many different sects, and each one has differing tenets.

There is Biblical reference to bris chadasha in Jeremiah, which Paul quoted in his letter to the Hebrews and explained as a "new covenant" replacing the old one (presumably all 613 commandments, not just the ones pertaining to things other than marriage and reproductive rights) in Messianic times. Except the translation of chadasha isn't "new," it's "renewed," and the context of Jeremiah is that the increasingly secularized Jews will return to Torah observance.

Not like Jews for Jesus at all.

The people wearing the Star of David are still Christians, with Christian beliefs. Its just a symbol. They aren't adhering to any Jewish beliefs.

Jews for Jesus maintains that one can be Jewish but adhere to Christian beliefs. That is clearly impossible because several of the core Christian beliefs are unacceptable to Judaism. Its like trying to describe a square circle. Much different than simply wearing a symbol.

Jews for Jesus is an arm of the Southern Baptist Convention intended to deceive non-practicing Jews - primarily Soviet expatriates who know they are "Jewish" but don't have the slightest clue what that means - into thinking that Fundamentalist Christianity is Judaism.

You don't think Jews as a whole are more likely to be atheists than other religions?

Atheism is a form of rejection and confrontation. May also be a social disorder, or something like that.

I'd say most info that atheists have in their arsenal was learned as an adult, not because Mommy and Daddy dragged them off to church every week.

Bullshit! If anything, religion is more of a disorder given that a particular delusion is necessary to support it.

I'd say most info that atheists have in their arsenal was learned as an adult, not because Mommy and Daddy dragged them off to church every week.

I would think that most atheists became atheists in their pre-teens and teens when they become philosophically aware.

If not, there's no need to promote anything. They are a member of a movement promoting something. It's not political. If they don't believe in religion, that's great, but they are still promoting a stance here, and they makes them far from indifferent. They are proselytizing their beliefs, WHICH is no different than anyone else proselytizing their beliefs, which happen to be religious beliefs.

This is not to say I believe the religious more than the athiests, but once they begin proselytizing their beliefs, they have become more than just non-believers, they are believers in their own "religion" which is the absence of a deity.
