Obama has Muslim roots.I don't think that he's a "Secret Muslim", but he certainly self-identified as one as a child. He didn't become a Christian until much later in life. Giving kids the information they need and the knowledge that a LOT is involved is better than that "just say no" crap. When kids understand how sex complicates relationships,the responsibilities involved they will shy away from it. That's not what "abstinence education " does. It fills their heads with all sorts of misconceptions that inevitably end up creating a conception since they don't know how to handle sex in a relationship or even how to protect themselves. |

Perfectly fine if the girl goes on the pill and they're not promiscuous. *Yeah, I like that term better. |

Well, that's probably because, for religious reasons, many don't want their kids to learn about rubbers, "pull out", etc........That said, I'm thinking to myself that most, not all, but most of the girls from my old Christian working-class neighborhood who got pregnant as teens or out of wedlock(as young adults) or were known to be promiscuous did indeed attend Catholic school, while I can think of only one girl from my public school who got pregnant. Maybe it means nothing or maybe the strict Catholic upbringing may have it's faults. Keep in mind, many kids went to Catholic school simply to avoid public school, and not because they come from a religious household. All this talk brings back memories of high school and my sex ed teacher Artie Cohen. I was in NY recently and ran into someone at London Lennie's who told me that he passed away. I was saddened to heat that. |

The parents, like good parents, will still do their best to make sure that their daughter isn't alone with the guy and will do whatever they can to prevent future sexual encounters. And this would be true even in a liberal Palin-hating household in Massachusetts, Maryland, or Long Island. |

Morris, your thinking seems to me to be convoluted. The educational process goes from the parent to the child, not the other way around. So if you have the most high-minded parents who do their best to impart strict moral and ethical values to their children, but one of the children, because of external influences, fails to follow those teachings, you'd blame the parents??? I don't see the logic. Lets try it the other way around. Two parents with questionable ethics and morals have a child. Would you then not vote for that child based solely on the questionable behavior of the parents? Think about it. |
