Well, that's probably because, for religious reasons, many don't want their kids to learn about rubbers, "pull out", etc........That said, I'm thinking to myself that most, not all, but most of the girls from my old Christian working-class neighborhood who got pregnant as teens or out of wedlock(as young adults) or were known to be promiscuous did indeed attend Catholic school, while I can think of only one girl from my public school who got pregnant. Maybe it means nothing or maybe the strict Catholic upbringing may have it's faults. Keep in mind, many kids went to Catholic school simply to avoid public school, and not because they come from a religious household. All this talk brings back memories of high school and my sex ed teacher Artie Cohen. I was in NY recently and ran into someone at London Lennie's who told me that he passed away. I was saddened to heat that. |
