"But just like with the religion, the loud people get all the attention." That I agree with. The loud ppl getting the attention are usually the ones who isn't representing said group in the best light unfortunately.

Not entirely false. I will say this— I'm not talking about ALL healthy people but the "organized" ones for lack of a better term. Seems to me there are two categories of healthy people; ones that aren't sick and don't necessarily hide it their healthiness but don't advertise it either (though you might find out in a course of a conversation) and the more "organized" ones for lack of a better term who are healthy and seem to continuously fight against disease (launch vaccination campaigns, offer health care to people who can't afford it, have arguments with people who advocate spreading disease, etc). I'm really talking about those people. Their obsession with fighting disease is almost like a disease itself which I find kind of ironic. I have no problem who chooses to make themselves sick (and what disease they deliberately contract) or don't deliberately make themselves sick but I respect people's right to choose as long as they don't make other people sick intentionally. (Making other people sick inadvertently because diseases are contagious doesn't count.)

I did my best to fix your horrendous grammar but the results may not be perfect.

That's not hypocrisy— that's the opposite of hypocrisy. That's the way it's supposed to work.

Perhaps if you realized how your disagreement is disrespectful we'd start getting somewhere.

I'm already well aware— I disagree with a belief you think a magic sky man told you to have.

Religion is like a mental rootkit; it aggressively defends itself by closing your mind to anything that contradicts it. I make it clear by words and example that your religion is bullshit, so it forces you to ignore the points I've made. Once your religion has made your decision for you, your conscious mind rationalises that decision by pretending that you're concerned with how I made my point, inventing this imaginary "disrespect" to justify the choice your mental malware made for you.

I disagree on lots of stuff with lots of people here but I don't think they find me disrespectful the way people find you to be.

The only "people" who find me disrespectful are your fellow nutters with the same infection you have.

Proving your immaturity yet again. My beliefs were not told to me by a "magic sky man" and the fact that you call all of us who are religious "nutters" and claim we are "infected" with a set of beliefs is disrespectful. No one is telling you that you have to be religious, but you do need to be respectful of those who have made that choice for themselves. I don't see anyone telling you that you must not be an atheist or criticizing you for those beliefs. You are only being criticized for being an insulting asshole to others.

fiogf49gjkf0d
My beliefs were not told to me by a "magic sky man"

Well no, but you believe a magic sky man exists and base most of your life around what people told you he wants.

and the fact that you call all of us who are religious "nutters" and claim we are "infected" with a set of beliefs is disrespectful.

You believe a magic sky fairy gets miffed when you eat a cheeseburger. "Nutter" is an accurate description.

"Infected" is just a metaphor for how the belief spreads— like a computer virus that alters your mind and belief system on a fundamental level. It's not a judgement on you as such.

So basically what you're saying is that I correctly pointed out that your beliefs are crazy, and this is inherently disrespectful. It isn't— if I went around claiming a yellow dragon that only I can see told me I had to buy a pound of ham every week and stuff it down the garbage disposal, people would rightly think I was crazy and it would not be "disrespectful" of them to point it out.

No one is telling you that you have to be religious...

Well you do have a habit of getting offended that I don't celebrate holidays in the way you think a magic sky man ordered me to.

... but you do need to be respectful of those who have made that choice for themselves.

The problem, of course, is that you have defined it as inherently disrespectful that I've noticed your beliefs are wrong. This is because, as noted, religion is like a mental rootkit; having taken control of your mind and integrated itself into your very sense of identity, it forces you to treat an attack on it as an attack on yourself and so you instinctively shut down your mind and then make silly rationalisations for why you refuse to accept my logic.

I don't see anyone telling you that you must not be an atheist or criticizing you for those beliefs.

Your point being? You and your fellow nutters are the only one claiming it's inherently disrespectful to tell someone their beliefs are wrong. If you told me I had to join your religion, I'd ask you to provide the evidence to justify that claim but I would never call you "disrespectful" simply for making it.

You are only being criticized for being an insulting asshole to others.

No, I'm being criticised because I pointed out that you're wrong— when I noticed that your religion is bullshit, it immediately hijacked your brain, shut down your ability to understand facts and logic, and let your conscious mind rationalise your failure to understand my points after the fact.

The idea that you're just offended that I'm "disrespecting" your beliefs is trivially easy to disprove— long before I ever mentioned religion, I noted in passing that I was celebrating Passover. You responded by throwing a tantrum and calling me an asshole— not because I criticised your religion, but because I mentioned in passing that I could celebrate Passover without subscribing to it, thus inadvertently disproving the idea that being religious was in inherent part of being Jewish and weakening the religion's primary hold on you, that it's convinced you it's an inherent aspect of who you are. Even though I didn't even mention religion myself, your religion stepped in to defend itself, shutting down your brain to prevent you from understanding the facts before you and leaving your conscious mind to assume that if you're ignoring the facts it must be because they offended you.

You're not upset because I've "disrespected" your religion— you're upset because I don't belong to it. Or rather, you've defined it as inherently disrespectful that I don't share your beliefs.

See there's the narcissism again. Or maybe it's just your lack of a theory of mind; you have difficulty understanding that I do things for my own reasons, so you assume that if you don't like something I do, I must have done it for the express purpose of annoying you and for no other reason.

If you applied to go on Birthright and when asked what your favorite holiday was, you answered Yom Kippur because your family has a special cheeseburger recipe that you prepare to eat that day, your application for the trip would be rejected.
