Dewd ... your problems could ALL be solved if you were to get you a proper emulator and the machine image to run that old G4 stuff. There ARE 68K VM's out there, yaknow ... and as far as your tinfoil there, I hope you know what my own background was before coming to Apple. I still have an FBI file larger than yours. :)

My specialty has been privacy and security and I wouldn't BE there if I couldn't see what was behind all the curtains. And as anyone who works here can tell you, Apple is bigger on secrecy than the NSA. I work in a specialty involving security there, I work with icloud code on an almost daily basis as well as many other areas where the guidance of someone who lived in Windows world and seeing that the hosers who spent better than 30 years now breaking in is one of the reasons why this "old fool" collects a nice check for rolling out of bed and working 20 feet away from my bed.

As far as the tinfoil goes, the ONLY way anybody's going to get anything out of our stuff in the past two years, they're going to have to beat the owner of the phone to give up their passcode, their Apple ID, their password (and if they went for two factor authentication) the "security code that just beeped on ANOTHER "trusted device" in order to get at anything. Tim himself summed it up in that link I sent you to the other day, "If law enforcement wants any details, they're going to have to get it out of the user - we don't HAVE it."

As to OS9, long before I came there, I can only account for what we've been doing lately. Steve was a douchebag. Haven't you seen any of the bullshit movies yet? (grin)
