For what it's worth, I did technically have a religion of my own once.

Yes, I am open to them. But your local Orthodox rabbi would be best to answer them.

I asked why you believe God exists, not why a local Orthodox rabbi believes God exists. Being open to questions means you answer them, not that you point to an Authority™ and declare: "I believe whatever he says."

Incidentally, the last time I asked a rabbi this question, his answer contained many dodges and hedges and waffles but basically boiled down to: "Actually, I kind of don't."

Of course that wasn't an Orthodox rabbi, so as far as you're concerned he probably wasn't even Jewish.
