I think the same about you.

Yes, but since you're full of shit I don't much care.

I'm sensing some resentment. What did hipsters ever do to you? That said, I wasn't aware that it was a hipster douche band.

Actually, I used the phrase "hipster douche band" as a stand-in for "obscure" because you were smugly preening that I'd never heard of some obscure band. I should have remembered that you can't understand nuance and context.

I think it does.

Then what?

Correct. Religion is an exception. I can't believe you didn't know that.

I'm well aware that people believe in religions without evidence, but doing so is irrational.

Are you simply admitting that you are irrational? That you believe something false because you think the truth doesn't matter?

Please elaborate. I'd love to hear more details. And that's not sarcasm— most religious people pretend they have evidence and then dodge and weave when asked to provide it so if you're candidly admitting you don't have any reason to believe God exists, then this can be the one area in which you have true insight to offer.

Why do you think there is evidence? If there was evidence, we wouldn't be having this conversations. So...?

Well like I said, one generally believes something is true because there is reason to think that it is.

If you believe God exists even though you know he doesn't, I'd love to hear your reasoning.

So if you have no evidence God exists, why do you believe he does?

I don't refuse to spell "god" correctly.

Then what's with the "g-d" then? You may be willing to spell "god" (the common noun; a generic powerful mythical being that appears in many cultures) properly, but you don't correctly spell "God" (the proper noun, a specific character in the Torah and fan fiction thereof).

Nope. I know what you're trying to say.

I don't think you do.

Because this...

As I said, your level of observance is not the primary factor in determining if you are Jewish or not.

...does not mesh with this.
