The buses out of Canarsie are jammed in the morning. Much of it are the school kids who have chosen not to attend Canarsie and South Shore and are bussed across the borough o what they think are better schools. Once you get to the junction, half the buses are short turned and for the most part, there are seats to be had (although many of these kids continue on to some school near Coney Island Avenue, I don't know what school it is). I wouldn't say the branch from the junction to downtown is empty but there are almost always ample seats to be had (which is important as it is a long long ride...I think, also the opening of Target at the junction has had something to do with the increaser in ridership and the addition of much more Saturday service and Sunday service.
