Yes it does and it also shows that Mr. Miller is very aware that he can come across the way many here have said that he comes across. No one wants to live in a police state. Given that I do extensive video taping during the year, I certainly would be one of the last persons who would want to see it stopped. But continual haranguing of police and security guards certainly does not win rail fans many friends in law enforcement. I think Mr. Miller should be thanked for his candor. |

If MDT didn't properly inform them that photography is legal, then they are within their duty to restrict it. That's not a power trip, they are just doing their jobs. I am sure if they are properly informed and trained in what is legal and legit and what is illegal and can be deemed suspicious, I am sure legit railfanning and photographers won't have any real issues.And come on, again it is clear this guy sets out to provoke these guys. |

In conversations I have had with NYPD, MTA PD and even Amtrak PD, they all say the same thing, that if one stays calm, collected, courteous and cooperative (key word COOPERATIVE), you have more than a good chance you will be left alone. However if you are trespassing, you can believe you will not have a smooth experience.Again, from NJ to Upstate NY to throughout the 5 boros and LI and CT, I have to date had NO issues at all with law enforcement. |

As for trespassing - I was stopped once by AMTRAK police outside of Harrisburg. Again, polite replies led to a peaceful "rest of the day". |
