I've started my Western trip, finally. First stop, New Orleans. Here's a sampler. Unfortuately the weather didn't cooperate today. After sunshine in the morning, it clouded over and then began to rain after lunch. It's kind of awkward taking pictures while juggling a camera, camera bag and umbrella. :-( Oh well, I'll be back some day.

The brightness and contrast may not match my usual standard because the screen on my MacBook probably doesn't match my desktop Mac's monitor at home, and its picture varies a lot with viewing angle anyway. If these pics look consistently too dark or too light, let me know and I'll try to compensate in later batches.

Lee Circle on the St. Charles line, while I still had sunshine:

Picking up passengers for St. Charles at Carondelet and Canal:

The St. Charles cars bunched up a lot today. At one point, I could see a "parade" of four cars! Couldn't get a decent picture of it, though.

At the terminal of the City Park branch of the Canal Street line:

When we got back to the junction at Canal and Carrollton, where the City Park and Cemeteries branches split, it was pouring rain again, so I didn't try to do the Cemeteries branch. Next time!

After dinner, I caught two Canal cars in the twilight:

A wide shot of the Riverfront line and the riverfront itself:

A closeup of the same car a few seconds later:

Next stops, hopefully, Houston (Monday) and Austin (Tuesday).
