Farmingdale Station question

Posted by Jeff Rosen on Fri Jul 4 22:23:44 2008 edf40wrjww2msgDetail:detailStr fiogf49gjkf0d My brother lives next to the Farmingdale Station and every time we go to his house I take the kids to the station whenever a train is scheduled to come in to watch. Although I've been there a number of times I just noticed something strange about it today: Does anyone know why the ticket office and waiting room is on the Eastbound Ronkonkoma bound platform instead of the Westbound platform? It doesn't make any sense. (As if anything about the LIRR makes sense) I'm sure there are more than 10 times the amount of passengers going west than east. I know there's a cross under there but it still doesn't make sense.
