I never heard of a motor vheicle on tracks derailing a train. Usually, the train wins big time! Well, look at it this way. The car is jammed into the tracks somehow, so that it cannot move. Now the train arrives at (say) 50 mph. Normally it would shove the car several hundreds of feet, but this time the car did not move. The truck carring the railcar stopped when it hit the immovable object, the train carbody, still moving at 50 mph departs from the truck and flies over the obstruction as an airborn missile. |
