I don’’t mean to come off as any sort of bully, but I seem to find that today’s railfans are disappointingly lacking in knowledge about the history and operation of the transit systems they like to railfan. In my early days of railfanning, I would often encounter TA employees and ask questions about various aspects of the system and also consulted with old time members of the ERA in an attempt to gain as much knowledge of the transit system as humanly possible. I should think that a hobbyist would be only too glad to accept the knowledge that I and other knowledgeable railfans are willing to impart rather than criticize us as “showing off!" |
