Only thing, what about lines that never leave their borough? (although that may only be the shuttles (42nd St and Franklin). The latter is an actual north-south route, so no problem there. 42nd St is a different story. It physically travels east-west, but based on the original 1904 route that it was a part of, Times Square is north and Grand Central is south. Before I knew about any of that, I was confused when I first rode the Shuttle (in 1973 I think) and wondered by Times Square was on the north roll of the R-17s and Grand Central was on the south. Of course, now I knowInterestingly, on the R-62As assigned to the 42 St shuttle, GC is on the north roll (probably drives a certain person crazy!) 😂 ![]() |
