Actually, the current B cannot be designated as a DD since under the single/double letter system only trains that have absolutely no express running anywhere on their route can be designated with double letters. Since the B runs exp on both 6th Ave and the Brighton Lin it has to carry a single letter. The problem comes in since there really can’t be 2 D services since it would be more confusing than the split A service between Lefferts and Rockaway. In a case like that one of the currently unused letters like the K or the V could be used. Other than that, the B could be rebadged as the D and the D could get back its pre Chrystie T designation. Then instead of using the T for the full SAS, either the K or the V could be used for that service if and when it ever comes to fruition. |
