Those cars ran on the A for such a long time that many people came to associate them with that route for years after they were shifted to other lines when the A got new R44 cars in the 1970s. There were a couple of incidents with those cars soon after delivery but the disruption wasn't nearly as bad as with the R46 defective trucks which also caused some R16 cars to be taken out of storage and put back on the road. Some of them were in worse condition than the R10s. |
