My understanding is that initially they did not mix the R15 with the R12/14 but in later years it did happen as it did much more frequently once the cars were taken off the Flushing line and transferred to the other IRT lines. The R12/14 were often put at the ends of trains since their caps and triggers were not allowed to be used other than on the Bowling Green-South Ferry shuttle. I think of them as the modern version of the unmodified Gibbs cars and deck roof cars which never got MUDC. |
