I believe that in the 1960s some R17s were also assigned to the line so there would be enough cars for 11 car trains. The R12/14/15 only totaled 350 cars which wasn't enough by themselves. When the R33/R36WF cars were ordered there were a total of 430 cars once they were all delivered by the spring of 1964. The R188 fleet now assigned to the line is a total of 506 cars including converted R142A and new build R188 cars. |
