The final run was made by Peter Witt 4051 at 12:45 AM. Later in the day several cars chartered by the “Cleveland Press” provided free last rides. Note: Despite the discontinuance of streetcar service by the CTS light rail service in Cleveland continued to be provided by trolleys of the Shaker Heights Rapid Transit. Ridolph Tuscarora Almanac – January 24, 1964 – The Book of First Runs New York City Transit Authority IRT Division No. 4 Lexington Avenue Expresses now use only a single conductor for a ten car train. Lo-V’s had been the mainstay of the No. 4 for many years. They required two conductors for a ten car trains. The R-Types need only one. During the transition period all trains ran with two conductors.
