The CT one in 2017 when I was there did not look al that bad, paint-wise, though it had nasty horizontal rot along the base. There are asbestos issues with that.

LIRR did offer an MP54C (arch roof) to the Riverhead group. It had been an Alcohol car. They refused it to due asbestos oozing out the sides. Sadly, all arch roof MP54's are now extinct. The Sag Harbor or Watermill car (#4900) was the last one and carted off to scrap about 10 years ago.
