Actually, starting in the mid 1930s, the Eastern Division had the newest cars and most technologically state of the art equipment ordered by the BMT pre unification, the Multis and the Bluebird and in the early 1950s, the Jamaica Line received what was then the newest rolling stock on the NYCTS, the R-16s. After the arrival oof the R-16s, the BMT Eastern had the newest equipment on the BMT till the arrival of the R-27s in 1960. |
